Katherine Chin, DDS, isn’t afraid to admit that she ate a lot of candy as a young child. Though she wound up with several cavities, her dental issues led to something far greater: her career as a pediatric dentist.
“After our dentist taught us about great oral health, everything changed for me,” says Dr. Chin. She began to enjoy her dental visits, seeing the fruits of her improved brushing, flossing and healthy eating habits.
Today, Dr. Chin passes the lessons she learned to her young patients and enjoys seeing the positive results. “I love to take a child who might have cavities and empower that family to make small changes at home, little by little, with our guidance,” she says. “And then to have that child have a cavity-free visit, that is the best reward for me. That’s why I love doing what I do.”
