Tips to manage your energy to provide personal and professional longevity

Clinical child and adolescent psychologist Jenna Glover, PhD shares tips on how to manage your energy by making small changes that can lead to improved stress management.

A simple adjustment such as setting a bedtime or increasing water intake can improve the energy available to overcome stressful situations.

“Additionally, I really advocate for a bedtime because if you don’t have a bedtime, you will never manage your time well because you can always borrow from a basic need,” says Dr. Glover.

Often, it’s easy to ignore other needs such as sleep or nutrition in order to take on more responsibility personally or professionally. Understanding the importance of those needs – among others – a clarified routine and the ability to create meaningful boundaries are essential to stress management and can make a big difference for parents and children.
