How Parents Can Help if Their Kid is Struggling with Their Mental Health




Many children and teens have struggled with their mental health due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It’s important, now more than ever, to create a family culture that is open to talking about feelings. It’s also important to do this without distractions and with empathy to empower kids to take control over their mental health.

In this video Jessica Hawks, MD, a clinical child and adolescent psychologist, describes what she calls “positive parenting” and gives tips for families to support each other. She also provides resources aimed to assist children who have grappled with their mental health during the coronavirus pandemic.
