Day in the Life: From Pharmacy Technician to Pharmacy Purchasing Agent
Ray was always interested in working in pediatrics, so when he got the opportunity to join Children’s Hospital Colorado, Colorado Springs as pharmacy technician, he jumped on it — and he hasn’t looked back. “The work environment here is unmatched,” he says.
Ray took advantage of growth opportunities to advance his career: Now a pharmacy purchasing agent, his job is to ensure that the hospital doesn’t run out of medications. He handles the ordering and receiving of pharmaceuticals, and coordinates with colleagues to make sure they always have what they need, when they need it. It’s all in support of the patients we treat.
“To be able to help the kids in your community, it’s the best feeling that you could have.”
