Exercise With an Athletic Trainer: Upper Extremity D1 PNF Flexion and Extension

Children’s Hospital Colorado physical therapist Adam Hryniewicz demonstrates upper extremity D1 Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) exercises. These exercises can help improve strength and stability in the shoulder. The flexion and extension exercises target a variety of areas including pectoral muscles, biceps, rotator cuff, posterior deltoid, triceps and back.

To begin you’ll need a resistance band and a stable structure for anchoring. Watch Adam as he guides you through the proper form for these exercises.
