“I think the brain is so fascinating,” says Dr. Lauren Treat, pediatric neurologist and palliative medicine physician. “And the ability to understand how we feel and think and move has always been so intriguing to me.”
Dr. Treat shares her love for the brain every day with her patients and their families. By combining palliative medicine and neurology, Dr. Treat helps kids shape their identity apart from their medical condition. She finds it important to care for kids not only medically, but as the whole person who lives in their body.
“It’s such a privilege to be able to work with children and families to help them come to a better understanding of what’s going on in their own body,” says Dr. Treat.
Dr. Treat wants all her patients to find a place in their community, in their medical care and to feel important – to be seen as an individual. With palliative medicine and neurology behind her, Dr. Treat does just that.
