Diagnosing Skeletal Dysplasia Before Birth

Skeletal dysplasia can be detected before birth during a routine prenatal ultrasound. If imaging shows differences in a baby’s bone growth, parents may be referred for additional testing and a consultation with specialists who can help clarify the diagnosis and plan for delivery and care. At Children’s Hospital Colorado, our multidisciplinary approach supports families navigating a possible prenatal skeletal dysplasia diagnosis. Our experts bring together advanced fetal imaging and expertise to prepare for birth and after-delivery care.
