Meet Our Doc: Megan Adams, MD, Pediatric Abdominal Transplant Surgeon

Pediatric transplant surgeon and director of pediatric abdominal transplant surgery, Megan Adams, MD, loves seeing her patients thrive after receiving their new liver or kidney — usually for years after they leave the hospital.

“The reward in pediatric transplant surgery is especially amazing,” Dr. Adams says. “I get to see these kids grow up and live totally normal lives. Kids that I did a liver transplant on years ago are finishing elementary school or graduating high school.”

Dr. Adams says a successful transplant surgery takes a village, and that’s what her patients receive.

“Children’s Colorado is one of the best transplant centers in the country,” she says. “It’s a testament to the importance of multidisciplinary care and all our teams coming together, working towards one common goal.”
