Biliary Atresia and Pediatric Liver Transplants: One Family’s Journey
Facing a diagnosis of biliary atresia and end-stage liver disease, Marlee’s family made the decision to seek out a liver transplant. They came to Children’s Hospital Colorado, one of the most successful liver transplant programs in the country. Our Pediatric Liver Transplant Program is based on a multidisciplinary team to address every need our transplant patients and their families may have, paired with some of the shortest wait times in the country.
Pediatric hepatologist Amy Feldman, MD, talks about why early diagnosis, shorter wait times and a living-donor transplant are critical to overall survival for children with biliary atresia.
