Your Guide to a Healthy and Faith-Filled Easter

Easter is a time of celebration, reflection, and renewal—both in our faith and in our relationships. Whether you’re hosting a meal for family and friends, looking for unique ways to share the Easter message, or searching for faith-filled ideas to make your celebration extra special, this blog has everything you need to celebrate the holiday in a meaningful way.

Before we get into it though, I want to share a little about how my view on the holiday has shifted. You may have heard me share this before but it’s still just as true and just as awe-filling to me as ever! I did not really know anything about Jesus until I was 40. So, for many years I saw Easter as just a day filled with traditions, eggs, baskets with candy and bunnies. But once I truly understood the gospel message, everything changed. Now, Easter holds a much deeper meaning and I am more thankful for this celebration than any other one!

If Jesus had not risen from the dead, our faith would be empty, and we would have no reason to celebrate. But because He rose from the grave, we have been given new life, a promise of eternity, and a relationship with God that can never be broken. My faith in Jesus gives me peace about when my life on earth is over but it also makes every day that I am still alive more joyful, peaceful and filled with love.

As the apostle Paul says,

“If Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith”

1 Corinthians 15:14

This verse from Paul cuts to the heart of why Easter is so crucial. Without the resurrection, everything about our faith crumbles. The resurrection of Jesus is not just a nice story. It is the celebration of life-changing victory, a reminder that because He lives, we can live fully in Him.

5 Faith-Filled Ways to Celebrate Easter

Easter is a beautiful opportunity to reflect on God’s love and share the joy of Jesus’ resurrection with others. One of the best ways to do this is by welcoming people into your home, sharing a meal, and fostering deep conversations around the table. • Outdoor Fun: Sidewalk chalk, bubbles, jump ropes, or flower seeds to plant.
  • Creative Activities: Coloring books, stickers, or playdough for kids. A sketch book, paints or colored pencils for adults.
  • Experiences: A coupon for a fun outing like a picnic, nature walk, or family game night.
  • Personalized Touches: A handwritten note of encouragement
  • Scripture Cards – A small set of cards with encouraging Bible verses. These can be a source of daily inspiration and reflection.
  • Faith-Based Books – Choose a devotional, children’s Bible storybook, or uplifting Christian novel to encourage spiritual growth.
  • Journals – Encourage reflection, prayer, and gratitude with a thoughtful journal.

4. Share Your Faith Around the Table

Easter is the perfect opportunity to share your faith with those who may not yet know Jesus. If you’re inviting people over for a meal, consider using the time around the table to share your story and how Jesus has transformed your life. Start with simple conversations about what Easter means to you and ask others about their traditions. This can lead to more profound discussions about faith.

5. Invite Someone to Church and Share a Meal Together

If you’ve been praying about reaching out to someone who may not know Jesus, Easter is an ideal time to invite them to church. Offering a welcoming space for them to hear the gospel and experience worship can be life-changing. Afterward, you can invite them to join you for a meal to continue the conversation and deepen your relationship. It’s a simple way to demonstrate God’s love through both words and actions.

As we prepare to celebrate Easter, I encourage you to take a moment to reflect on the true significance of this day. It’s not just another day on the calendar, not just a time for eggs and bunnies or a holiday with a special meal. Easter is THE DAY that allows for all other days. It’s the day that changed history and made a way for us to have a relationship with God, now and for eternity.

Let’s make this Easter different—let’s celebrate with intention and share the Good News message with the world around us.
