Exercise With an Athletic Trainer: Wall Ball Figure Eights
In this video, athletic trainer Nick Cole demonstrates wall ball figure eights, or shoulder proprioception, which focuses on stabilizing the shoulder. To complete this exercise, you’ll need a ball such as a soccer ball, basketball or volleyball.
To begin, stand an arm’s length away from the wall. With the ball in your palm, place it against the wall at chest level, using pressure to hold the ball. Move the ball with the palm of your hand in a small figure eight pattern. Complete 12 repetitions with each arm and repeat the set twice. For more difficulty, try a weighted medicine ball.
Watch as Nick demonstrates the proper form and technique for this exercise.
