Exercise With an Athletic Trainer: Subscapular Pull with Twist
In this video, athletic trainer Nick Cole demonstrates a subscapular pull with twist. This exercise targets the subscapularis muscle, the largest and strongest muscle in the rotator cuff.. To complete this exercise, you’ll need an exercise band with a loop.
Begin by facing 90 degrees to the band anchor, with your arm outstretched, elbow straight and thumb up. Pull the band behind your back, allowing your arm to rotate until it resembles a chicken wing. To finish the repetition, allow the resistance band to pull your arm back to the starting position. Complete 10-12 repetitions for two to three sets.
Watch as Nick demonstrates the proper form and technique for this exercise.
