Exercises with an Athletic Trainer: Is, Ts, Ys and Ws
Physical therapist Adam Hryniewicz demonstrates four shoulder strengthening exercises called Is, Ts, Ys and Ws. These exercises target the rhomboids, lower trapezius and middle trapezius muscles.
The motions performed in these exercises mimic the letters, I, T, Y and W. The exercises can be performed lying on your stomach on the ground, off the edge of a table, on a stability ball or while standing with a hinge in your hips. It’s important to keep your shoulder blades drawn down and back throughout.
Watch as Adam demonstrates each of these shoulder exercises.
