Meet Our Doc: Julia Sanders, MD, Director, Pediatric Orthopedic Trauma Program
“Pediatrics in particular is so special to me,” says Dr. Julia Sanders, Director of our Pediatric Orthopedic Trauma and Fracture Program. “I think it’s because kids have this incredible energy, and they want to get better.”
Dr. Sanders sees her care much like a satisfying puzzle — there’s always pieces to fit back together.
“Sometimes you’re putting different pieces back together and it can be really simple or really complex,” says Dr. Sanders. “But ultimately what you end up with is somebody who was broken and now fixed.”
When Dr. Sanders meets her patients, they’re often dealing with a scary traumatic injury or fracture. She’s there to meet patients where they’re at, create a plan and get them through the process of healing. For Dr. Sanders, that process of healing is a part of what makes her job so special.
“I think the care you get here, from the people that meet you and greet you the moment you walk into the door, to the people who are performing your surgery, to the nursing staff that takes care of you in between – everybody really cares about making this experience good and about helping your kids get better,” says Dr. Sanders.
