How do we know that the COVID-19 vaccine is safe for children? | COVID-19 Vaccine Safety
Pediatricians take the Hippocratic Oath to protect patients and to prevent any harm to a child. Children’s Hospital Colorado pediatrician Dr. Daniel Nicklas explains that during pediatric COVID-19 vaccine trials the COVID-19 vaccine was determined to be extremely safe for kids and that it protects them against the coronavirus.
Dr. Nicklas describes some common side effects that children may experience with COVID-19 vaccination including feeling feverish and achy, often lasting a day or so. He also explains a very rare complication called myocarditis, and how the risk of myocarditis from getting sick with COVID is much more likely than the risk of myocarditis from the vaccine.
