Building Resiliency for Healthy Kids Program by Children’s Hospital Colorado

Colorado’s child suicide rate is higher than it’s ever been before, and Children’s Hospital Colorado has declared a state of emergency for youth mental health. Kids feel overwhelmed, and school teachers grapple with how to support their students’ mental health alongside their academic responsibilities. Enter Children’s Colorado’s Building Resiliency for Healthy Kids Program.

This unique program is an evidence-based, child-centered program that places health coaches in Colorado Springs middle schools to help sixth graders one-on-one. Over the course of six weeks, coaches provide the students with tools to overcome challenges, anxiety and depression, providing them with much-needed resources before they reach a state of crisis.

Watch to learn more about how Eagleview Middle School students Jeremiah, Bryce, Davis and Sunia developed coping mechanisms, built up their confidence and worked towards their goals.
