As a pediatric orthopedic surgeon, Aaron Boyles, DO, is fascinated by the amazing science behind bones and their growth – especially in children.
“They break differently, they heal differently,” says Dr. Boyles. “And in all regards (are) more resilient, which is fun as a surgeon to be able to work with kids that are inherently good healers.”
Although most kids come in when they are in pain or frustrated by an injury, Dr. Boyles shares why he enjoys performing orthopedic surgery and how the technical aspects of surgery allow him to deliver positive results for families. These positive results provide hope for the future while creating lasting relationships with families.
“The long-term relationship I get to develop with a family when I know their child as an infant and then see them through until they’re done growing, that relationship is rewarding in and of itself,” says Dr. Boyles.
