Meet Our Doc: Jonathan Hills-Dunlap, MD, MPH, Pediatric Surgery
“I want families to know that I’m going to treat their child like my own,” says pediatric surgeon Jonathan Hills-Dunlap, MD, MPH. “I think that it is a tremendous honor and responsibility to provide surgical care to kids. That is not something that I take lightly. In the world of surgery, they are literally putting the life of their child in my hands. And that’s enough to get me up every day.”
As a surgeon and a father, Dr. Hills-Dunlap feels a deep level of empathy and compassion for the families he encounters. His dedication to improving children’s lives motivates him to provide the best care for his patients. Dr. Hills-Dunlap also pursues the latest minimally invasive surgical techniques that offer a faster, easier recovery.
“One of the things that inspires me about Children’s Colorado is that we are constantly trying to be on the cutting edge of technology,” Dr. Hills-Dunlap says. “Our goal is to expand robotic-assisted surgery here at Children’s Colorado within the Division of Pediatric Surgery.”
Dr. Hills-Dunlap is passionate about providing care that changes lives for the better. “Children’s Colorado is a tremendous institution with wonderful people who are all trying to take care of kids. The opportunity to plug into something bigger than myself is what I wanted to be a part of.”
