2024 Sim Wars at Children’s Hospital Colorado

Here, we do medical simulations a little bit differently.

Simulations provide our team members with the knowledge and skills to help all our patients — especially in difficult situations. While the patients are fictional, the exercises are real situations that they may face in their daily work.

Since 2019, our Sim Wars edutainment event has brought together multidisciplinary teams from across our hospital to utilize their expertise in a fun and unique environment. But behind the over-the-top theming, costumes and fanfare, Sim Wars gives our team members the opportunity to practice collaboration and communication while delivering complex care.

This year, our theme “Competing for the Crown” had our teams dressing as their favorite fairytale characters, battling wicked sickness and spooky accidents. Along with celebrity guest judge Dr. Jennifer Arnold, NICU physician and simulation program director at Boston Children’s Hospital, see how we use consistent practice to provide the best care to our patients.
