HPV, a very common sexually transmitted infection, can lead to the development of cervical cancer\u2014a global health issue that impacts <a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/28473240\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"mbg-track-event\" data-track-event-types=\"click\" data-track-type=\"article-link\" data-track-prop-element-id=\"in-body-link\" data-track-prop-label=\"page_type | element_id\" data-track-prop-category=\"Link\" data-track-prop-link=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/28473240\/\" rel=\"noopener\">women of all ages<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Recent studies have indicated an increase in cervical cancer cases associated with <a href=\"https:\/\/ijgc.bmj.com\/content\/32\/9\/1115\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"mbg-track-event\" data-track-event-types=\"click\" data-track-type=\"article-link\" data-track-prop-element-id=\"in-body-link\" data-track-prop-label=\"page_type | element_id\" data-track-prop-category=\"Link\" data-track-prop-link=\"https:\/\/ijgc.bmj.com\/content\/32\/9\/1115\" rel=\"noopener\">HPV infections<\/a>.\u00a0While this is concerning, the good news is that many cases of cervical cancer can be prevented through <a href=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/33763336\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"mbg-track-event\" data-track-event-types=\"click\" data-track-type=\"article-link\" data-track-prop-element-id=\"in-body-link\" data-track-prop-label=\"page_type | element_id\" data-track-prop-category=\"Link\" data-track-prop-link=\"https:\/\/pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/33763336\/\" rel=\"noopener\">proactive lifestyle changes<\/a>.\u00a0It&#8217;s also worth noting that cervical cancer, while a serious health concern, is not an inevitability in the face of a positive HPV Pap smear.<\/p>\n<p>With more than 90% of my patients being women who are seeking holistic approaches to cancer prevention, I can attest to the fact that taking a proactive approach with lifestyle choices can have a significant impact on cervical health outcomes.
