I struggled with maintaining a consistent workout schedule, and I could tell my weight was bouncing around more than usual (although I don&#8217;t weigh myself frequently). When I did find myself on a scale about a year and a half later, the number was higher than I was comfortable with\u2014especially given that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mindbodygreen.com\/articles\/what-is-metabolic-health-and-how-to-tell-if-your-metabolically-healthy\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"mbg-track-event\" data-track-event-types=\"click\" data-track-type=\"article-link\" data-track-prop-element-id=\"in-body-link\" data-track-prop-label=\"page_type | element_id\" data-track-prop-category=\"Link\" data-track-prop-link=\"https:\/\/www.mindbodygreen.com\/articles\/what-is-metabolic-health-and-how-to-tell-if-your-metabolically-healthy\" rel=\"noopener\">metabolic issues<\/a> (especially blood sugar problems)\u00a0run in my family.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Now, I&#8217;ve always had a larger frame (I&#8217;m 5&#8217;7&#8221; and have never been a size 2 or 4, for reference), and my goal has never been to change that. Rather, I needed to\u2014wanted to\u2014reestablish healthy habits to get my metabolism back on track and feel good in my own skin again.\u00a0<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><!--\/$--><\/div>\n<div id=\"\"><!--$--><\/p>\n<div end=\"false\" class=\"sc-11rlt5o-4 dblBVm\">\n<p>Like most people on a weight loss journey, I started by homing in on my diet and exercise. But I ran into a few challenges.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The first challenge was the hours at the gym. While conveniently located (right around the corner from my apartment), the gym I joined closed early. I was impressed with the claims of <em>boost metabolic rate<\/em>, <em>regulate appetite, curb cravings<\/em>, and <em>reduce body fat and weight<\/em> and was intrigued to see if it would <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mindbodygreen.com\/articles\/its-not-too-good-to-be-true-this-metabolism-product-works\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"mbg-track-event\" data-track-event-types=\"click\" data-track-type=\"article-link\" data-track-prop-element-id=\"in-body-link\" data-track-prop-label=\"page_type | element_id\" data-track-prop-category=\"Link\" data-track-prop-link=\"https:\/\/www.mindbodygreen.com\/articles\/its-not-too-good-to-be-true-this-metabolism-product-works\" rel=\"noopener\">live up to the hype<\/a>.* My dietitian friend also gave it a thumbs-up, instilling even more confidence.<\/p>\n<p>After about a week with <a href=\"https:\/\/shop.mindbodygreen.com\/products\/metabolism?itc_content=53900\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"sponsored noopener\" class=\"mbg-track-event\" data-track-event-types=\"click\" data-track-type=\"article-link\" data-track-prop-element-id=\"in-body-product-link\" data-track-prop-product=\"metabolism\" data-track-prop-label=\"page_type|element_id\" data-track-prop-category=\"Commerce Engagement\">metabolism+<\/a>, I noticed my appetite was generally reduced.
