for all the sneakers they make. Instead, the brand must submit each sneaker for acceptance.<\/p>\n<p>For a sneaker to receive the APMA Seal of Acceptance, there are some pretty strict requirements, says <a href=\"https:\/\/www.progressivefootcareny.com\/our-practice\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener sponsored\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-vars-event=\"body text\" data-vars-click-url=\"https:\/\/www.progressivefootcareny.com\/our-practice\/\">Bruce Pinker,<\/a> DPM, a foot and ankle surgeon at Progressive Foot Care. \u201cIf it\u2019s footwear, [the shoes] are usually very well made,\u201d he says, pointing out that medication and insoles can also have the seal. \u201cThe shoes have probably passed some tests or there is research to show that they perform well and are very effective.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The APMA wants to approve sneakers or shoes that potentially will have some optimizations or benefits to walking or running. They will be comfortable and they will be good for your feet,\u201d adds <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stepupfootcare.com\/dr-nelya-lobkova-dpm?\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener sponsored\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-vars-event=\"body text\" data-vars-click-url=\"https:\/\/www.stepupfootcare.com\/dr-nelya-lobkova-dpm?\">Nelya Lobkova<\/a>, DPM, board-certified podiatrist and owner of Step Up Footcare in New York City.<\/p>\n<p>That said, just because a shoe doesn\u2019t have the APMA seal doesn\u2019t mean it\u2019s a bad shoes; it just verifies the accepted shoes have been reviewed by medical professionals and that they meet the organization&#8217;s standards.
