I always set my old-fashioned alarm clock, but I can\u2019t remember the last time it woke me up. (I think that both my medical training and being a mom trained me to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mindbodygreen.com\/articles\/how-to-wake-yourself-up\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"mbg-track-event\" data-track-event-types=\"click\" data-track-type=\"article-link\" data-track-prop-element-id=\"in-body-link\" data-track-prop-label=\"page_type | element_id\" data-track-prop-category=\"Link\" data-track-prop-link=\"https:\/\/www.mindbodygreen.com\/articles\/how-to-wake-yourself-up\" rel=\"noopener\">get up without an alarm<\/a>!) I check overnight texts and emails, play Wordle, and start the NYT mini-crossword and Spelling Bee.<\/p>\n<p><strong>7:15 a.m.:<\/strong> I shower, then eat breakfast. Usually, it&#8217;s tea with local Andrew\u2019s Honey, yogurt with a little matcha powder mixed in, and fruit. I have always loved green tea, and there are so many <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mindbodygreen.com\/articles\/benefits-of-green-tea\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"mbg-track-event\" data-track-event-types=\"click\" data-track-type=\"article-link\" data-track-prop-element-id=\"in-body-link\" data-track-prop-label=\"page_type | element_id\" data-track-prop-category=\"Link\" data-track-prop-link=\"https:\/\/www.mindbodygreen.com\/articles\/benefits-of-green-tea\" rel=\"noopener\">benefits to its antioxidants<\/a>; plus, I love the flavor!\u00a0The honey is from NYC, and I find it has some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mindbodygreen.com\/articles\/how-to-use-bee-pollen-for-allergies\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"mbg-track-event\" data-track-event-types=\"click\" data-track-type=\"article-link\" data-track-prop-element-id=\"in-body-link\" data-track-prop-label=\"page_type | element_id\" data-track-prop-category=\"Link\" data-track-prop-link=\"https:\/\/www.mindbodygreen.com\/articles\/how-to-use-bee-pollen-for-allergies\" rel=\"noopener\">benefits for my seasonal allergies<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>8:30 a.m.:<\/strong> I walk to the office. I am lucky to be able to walk to and from work. I call it my \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mindbodygreen.com\/articles\/why-listening-to-bird-songs-may-benefit-your-mental-health\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"mbg-track-event\" data-track-event-types=\"click\" data-track-type=\"article-link\" data-track-prop-element-id=\"in-body-link\" data-track-prop-label=\"page_type | element_id\" data-track-prop-category=\"Link\" data-track-prop-link=\"https:\/\/www.mindbodygreen.com\/articles\/why-listening-to-bird-songs-may-benefit-your-mental-health\" rel=\"noopener\">walking meditation<\/a>\u201d and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mindbodygreen.com\/articles\/best-time-for-walks\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"mbg-track-event\" data-track-event-types=\"click\" data-track-type=\"article-link\" data-track-prop-element-id=\"in-body-link\" data-track-prop-label=\"page_type | element_id\" data-track-prop-category=\"Link\" data-track-prop-link=\"https:\/\/www.mindbodygreen.com\/articles\/best-time-for-walks\" rel=\"noopener\">getting light in the morning<\/a> helps support my sleep at night. I use it as a quiet time\u2014no music or podcasts\u2014to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mindbodygreen.com\/articles\/return-to-nature-excerpt\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"mbg-track-event\" data-track-event-types=\"click\" data-track-type=\"article-link\" data-track-prop-element-id=\"in-body-link\" data-track-prop-label=\"page_type | element_id\" data-track-prop-category=\"Link\" data-track-prop-link=\"https:\/\/www.mindbodygreen.com\/articles\/return-to-nature-excerpt\" rel=\"noopener\">look up at the sky and trees<\/a> and also at architecture, local shops, etc.<\/p>\n<p><strong>9:45 p.m.: <\/strong>By this time, I&#8217;m hopefully finished with work for the day. I am working full-time and getting an MBA, so late nights are not uncommon, but I try to prioritize time to wind down before sleep. Sometimes, this will involve watching a show with my daughter. We recently watched The Great, and we are waiting for the next season of The Great British Bake Off.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>If I am stressed at the end of a long day, I will do some <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mindbodygreen.com\/articles\/this-five-minute-diaphragmatic-breath-routine-will-release-your-anxiety\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"mbg-track-event\" data-track-event-types=\"click\" data-track-type=\"article-link\" data-track-prop-element-id=\"in-body-link\" data-track-prop-label=\"page_type | element_id\" data-track-prop-category=\"Link\" data-track-prop-link=\"https:\/\/www.mindbodygreen.com\/articles\/this-five-minute-diaphragmatic-breath-routine-will-release-your-anxiety\" rel=\"noopener\">abdominal breathing<\/a> (usually 10 reps) or sometimes some stretching.\u00a0I&#8217;ll also start <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mindbodygreen.com\/articles\/circadian-rhythm-researcher-on-how-to-reset-your-internal-clock\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"mbg-track-event\" data-track-event-types=\"click\" data-track-type=\"article-link\" data-track-prop-element-id=\"in-body-link\" data-track-prop-label=\"page_type | element_id\" data-track-prop-category=\"Link\" data-track-prop-link=\"https:\/\/www.mindbodygreen.com\/articles\/circadian-rhythm-researcher-on-how-to-reset-your-internal-clock\" rel=\"noopener\">dimming the lights after dinner<\/a> to get my brain ready for bed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>10:15 p.m.: <\/strong>Time for my nightly skincare.
