Both creators use the <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/433ed2F\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" class=\"mbg-track-event\" data-track-event-types=\"click\" data-track-type=\"article-link\" data-track-prop-element-id=\"in-body-link\" data-track-prop-label=\"page_type | element_id\" data-track-prop-category=\"Link\" data-track-prop-link=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/433ed2F\">Lumify Redness Reliever Eye Drops<\/a>, which I also personally swear by.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOf course this is going to work\u2014brimonidine [an active ingredient in eye drops] is a vasoconstrictor,\u201d Rose says, which means it helps to narrow blood vessels; this, in turn, will reduce redness.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mindbodygreen.com\/articles\/inflammatory-acne\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"mbg-track-event\" data-track-event-types=\"click\" data-track-type=\"article-link\" data-track-prop-element-id=\"in-body-link\" data-track-prop-label=\"page_type | element_id\" data-track-prop-category=\"Link\" data-track-prop-link=\"https:\/\/www.mindbodygreen.com\/articles\/inflammatory-acne\" rel=\"noopener\">Pimples<\/a> tend to have more relaxed blood vessels and inflammation, which make them appear red,\u201d board-certified dermatologist at Schweiger Dermatology Group <a href=\"https:\/\/www.schweigerderm.com\/providers\/nava-greenfield-md-fd\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"mbg-track-event\" data-track-event-types=\"click\" data-track-type=\"article-link\" data-track-prop-element-id=\"in-body-link\" data-track-prop-label=\"page_type | element_id\" data-track-prop-category=\"Link\" data-track-prop-link=\"https:\/\/www.schweigerderm.com\/providers\/nava-greenfield-md-fd\/\" rel=\"noopener\">Nava Greenfield, M.D., FAAD<\/a>, tells mbg.\u00a0By constricting the blood vessels, you can effectively dial down that inflammation.<\/p>\n<p>However, Greenfield notes that this hack does actually <em>treat<\/em> the pimple itself. \u201cIt can temporarily improve the appearance of the pimple but is not really helping the pimple resolve,&#8221; she notes.<\/p>\n<p>Also, it\u2019s not something you should be doing every single day, or the effects might dwindle over time. \u201cIt is theoretically possible to have a sort of tachyphylaxis occurring after the active ingredient wears off, and the lesion may appear more red,\u201d Greenfield says. (Meaning, your skin may get used to the active after a few rounds.)<\/p>\n<p>All of this to say: If you have a super-red pimple pop up right before a big event, this eye drop hack will help reduce the redness momentarily.
