Each round calls for its own approach.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe first round, just train your body in the exercise sequence,\u201d says Baxter. Focus on your form, and getting a feel for the moves. That way, during later rounds, you can dig deeper, push harder, or move faster to safely challenge yourself in a new way. &#8220;Once you get the reins, just take them and run with it,&#8221; says Baxter.<\/p>\n<p>In a new episode of Well+Good\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wellandgood.com\/trainer-of-the-month-club\/\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-vars-event=\"body text\" data-vars-click-url=\"https:\/\/www.wellandgood.com\/trainer-of-the-month-club\/\">Trainer of the Month Club<\/a>, Baxter\u00a0takes us through a full-body strength session that pulls elements of barre, Pilates, and cardio into one 10-minute workout so that you can lengthen, strengthen, <em>and<\/em> condition in one fell swoop. With two rounds of supersets, the class will scorch your glutes, abs, quads, and arms. Bonus: There&#8217;s absolutely no equipment needed.<\/p>\n<p>After a brief warmup to loosen up the body with some light, fluid stretches, Baxter dives right in with the first superset: a wide <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wellandgood.com\/how-to-do-a-sumo-squat\/\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-vars-event=\"body text\" data-vars-click-url=\"https:\/\/www.wellandgood.com\/how-to-do-a-sumo-squat\/\">second-position pli\u00e9<\/a> into a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wellandgood.com\/how-to-do-a-curtsy-lunge\/\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-vars-event=\"body text\" data-vars-click-url=\"https:\/\/www.wellandgood.com\/how-to-do-a-curtsy-lunge\/\">curtsy lunge<\/a>, and a &#8220;windmill&#8221; leaning to one side then stepping into <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wellandgood.com\/how-to-do-reverse-lunges\/\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-vars-event=\"body text\" data-vars-click-url=\"https:\/\/www.wellandgood.com\/how-to-do-reverse-lunges\/\">reverse lunge<\/a>. We\u2019re pushing for endurance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On the second round, Baxter points out that the moves should now feel more familiar, so you can try to push them to the next level. &#8220;Maybe the feet get a little wider, curtsy gets a little deeper,&#8221; she says. On a difficulty scale of one to 10, Baxter says to aim for an eight or a nine effort: challenging, but doable. Hitting this level means you\u2019ll get the most out of your workout (and time).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs you\u2019re in it, be present, be focused, and just continue to try the best that you can,\u201d says Baxter. \u201cIt might get a little spicy too at moments. It\u2019s all right\u2014don\u2019t be afraid of the spice. Just keep working, keep pushing.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The next superset includes <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wellandgood.com\/jackknife-exercise\/\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-vars-event=\"body text\" data-vars-click-url=\"https:\/\/www.wellandgood.com\/jackknife-exercise\/\">jackknives<\/a> and alternating knee drivers (aka <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wellandgood.com\/mountain-climbers-form\/\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-vars-event=\"body text\" data-vars-click-url=\"https:\/\/www.wellandgood.com\/mountain-climbers-form\/\">mountain climbers<\/a>)\u2014a core strength combo that also hits the legs and arms.<\/p>\n<p>Baxter offers variations if you want to kick things up a notch on the second go-around, whether by increasing the resistance or upping the tempo. &#8220;I always want to give an option in case you want a bit more spice or to push yourself a little bit more,&#8221; she says.<\/p>\n<p>How hard you take each round is up to you, but if you focus on stepping on the gas just a little harder each time you return to an exercise, this workout can pack a mighty punch in a short amount of time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBe proud that you\u2019re taking some time for you today, even if it\u2019s 10 minutes,\u201d says Baxter. \u201cI always say <em>something<\/em> is better than <em>nothing<\/em>!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p><script async defer src=\"https:\/\/platform.instagram.com\/en_US\/embeds.js\"><\/script><br \/>\n<br \/><div data-type=\"_mgwidget\" data-widget-id=\"1675549\">\r\n<\/div>\r\n<script>(function(w,q){w[q]=w[q]||[];w[q].push([\"_mgc.load\"])})(window,\"_mgq\");\r\n<\/script>\r\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Each month, a new trainer takes us through four of the best workouts they have in their back pocket.
