A part of this includes the most important meal of the day: eating breakfast.<\/p>\n<p>One woman\u2014a 105-year-old living in Loma Linda, California\u2014swears by starting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wellandgood.com\/blue-zones-recipe\/\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-vars-event=\"body text\" data-vars-click-url=\"https:\/\/www.wellandgood.com\/blue-zones-recipe\/\">her day with a hearty bowl of slow-cooked oatmeal<\/a>. Topped with fiber-friendly dates, wholesome walnuts, and a splash of protein-packed soy milk, it&#8217;s a super easy meal to make in the morning. Enjoy a cup of morning coffee<\/h3>\n<p>People who live in each of the five Blue Zones savor their morning cup of joe. &#8220;[People in these areas] drink up to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bluezones.com\/2018\/01\/20-habits-healthier-happier-life\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" referrerpolicy=\"no-referrer-when-downgrade\" data-vars-event=\"body text\" data-vars-click-url=\"https:\/\/www.bluezones.com\/2018\/01\/20-habits-healthier-happier-life\/\">two or three cups of black coffee per day<\/a>,&#8221; according to Buettner&#8217;s findings. &#8220;The American Heart Association found that consuming coffee, both caffeinated and decaf, was associated with a lower risk of total mortality.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Now, that doesn&#8217;t mean you should go loading up your cup with sweet cream lattes or six packets of sugar.
