The healthy skin then grows to replace the injured skin. This technique is often used for burn injuries. Full-thickness skin grafts help reduce healing time and scarring, help the injured area function better and lead to stronger, healthier skin once healed.<br \/>\nFull-thickness skin grafts use a thicker layer of donor skin to be placed on the injured skin. In full-thickness skin grafts, the entire top layer of the skin (epidermis) and the entire second layer of the skin (dermis) are used for the donor skin.
