You may even get to know each other a little better.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou get to see how your child learns and persists, and your child sees the power of a healthy lifestyle,\u201d she notes. \u201cSimply practicing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bodi.com\/blog\/breathing-exercises-for-anxiety\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">breath exercises<\/a> and finding synchronicity can build a stronger bond.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>The Best Yoga Poses for Kids<\/h2>\n<p>A great introduction to yoga for the whole family is a short Level 1 class on BODi\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beachbodyondemand.com\/blog\/yoga52-weekly-yoga-workout-programs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Yoga52<\/a> program. Point your fingertips forward and spread your fingers wide.<\/li>\n<li>On an exhale, tuck your toes, press into your hands, straighten your arms and legs, and lift your hips up toward the ceiling. Keep your hands shoulder-width apart and feet hip-width apart.<\/li>\n<li>Rotate your shoulders outward to avoid scrunching them. Keep your arms straight, and engage your biceps to keep your elbows from locking out. Look back at your toes and keep your ears in line with your arms.<\/li>\n<li>Hold the pose for one minute.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How to Progress in Your Family Practice<\/h2>\n<p>Whether you\u2019re doing yoga as a family, as a parent-kid combo, or seeing your older child or teenager trying some solo yoga practices, it\u2019s likely that as you get more comfortable with yoga, you\u2019ll want to keep adding poses.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen you\u2019re ready to up the challenge, you may want to try some higher-level Yoga52 classes,\u201d says\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bodi.com\/blog\/yoga52-trainers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Brent Laffoon<\/a>, a Yoga52 trainer. \u201cEven if you and your kids can\u2019t do every pose or sequence, it\u2019s fun to explore different options,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<p>Plus, you can tweak the poses and even invent some of your own based on basic yoga poses.
