{"id":13228,"date":"2025-02-06T05:12:52","date_gmt":"2025-02-05T22:12:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/loudhdtv.com\/?p=13228"},"modified":"2025-02-06T05:12:52","modified_gmt":"2025-02-05T22:12:52","slug":"josef-newgarden-shifts-gears-debuting-in-the-hyrox-challenge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/loudhdtv.com\/?p=13228","title":{"rendered":"Josef Newgarden Shifts Gears Debuting In The HYROX Challenge"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> <script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-3711241968723425\"\r\n     crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><br \/>\n<\/p>\n<div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is often said that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.muscleandfitness.com\/athletes-celebrities\/pro-tips\/crossfit-made-ricky-stenhouse-a-fitter-nascar-driver\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">race drivers must be fit and be strong<\/a> enough to have their muscles taxed while handling high powered vehicles on the track, but the 2023 and 2024 Indy 500 winner, Josef Newgarden just proved the point with a dedicated debut in HYROX.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While Newgarden\u2019s time on the track is carefully mapped out at least a year in advance, the driver, who is a member of Team Penske, decided to put his time between seasons to productive use by dipping his toes into his first HYROX competition.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>What is HYROX?<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">HYROX events start with a 1km run followed by a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.muscleandfitness.com\/workouts\/workout-tips\/how-use-skierg-power-endurance-and-weight-loss\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">functional workout station such as the SkiErg<\/a> or Sled Push. This sequence is repeated until 8 runs and 8 stations have been completed. It\u2019s a challenge that has caught on around the world, so HYROX leaderboards and cumulative world championship titles are awarded at the end of every season. Also attractive is the fact that anyone can enter a HYROX race, whether you are already an elite athlete, or just hoping to take your training to the next level. \u201cI just learned about this two months ago,\u201d shared Newgarden in an Instagram post one day out from his debut.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Josef Newgarden\u2019s HYROX Training Video<\/h2>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h2>What Was Josef Newgarden\u2019s Result at HYROX Las Vegas?<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Despite his disappointment, Newgarden, a two-time Indy champ actually made an impressive finish time. \u201cI must say, this race took the wind out of my sails a bit,\u201d he explained. \u201cI was somewhere between demoralized and relived at the finish line, but I woke up the next day and was ready for more!\u201d Newgarden competed in the Pro Men 30-34 division, and <a href=\"https:\/\/hyroxresults.com\/event\/Las%20Vegas%7C2025-1\/results\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">finished the course with an official time of 01:14:32,<\/a> that\u2019s only around 8 minutes outside of the top ten but <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the contest was ultimately won by Dawson Miller with a pace setting time of 59:03.6.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On reflection, Garden was able to feel proud of his efforts in a brand-new sport. \u201cSo cool to get a time on the board in Las Vegas last weekend,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m loving this HYROX challenge. I\u2019ve got a long way to go, but I\u2019ll have another attempt at this in March! Also, mad respect to all the HYROX athletes.\u201d The driver\u2019s devoted fans were seriously impressed, too. \u201cHelluva job!\u201d wrote one fan. \u201cLet\u2019s goooo!\u201d wrote another.
