While the event itself was undoubtedly a gigantic success, some subscribers of the world\u2019s No. 1 streaming platform were doubtful of the legitimacy of the fight, leading to conspiracy theories that ranged from \u201cThe Baddest Man on the Planet\u201d having to pull his punches, to money man Jake Paul admonishing Tyson for hurting him during the eight-round bout.<\/p>\n<p>The spectacle generated a live gate of more than $18 million at AT&amp;T Stadium in Arlington, TX, and was viewed by an estimated audience of more than 108 million around the world. In response to what MVP called \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/boxing\/story\/_\/id\/42607181\/mvp-calls-claims-jake-paul-vs-mike-tyson-was-rigged-illogical\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">baseless claims<\/a>,\u201d the fight organizers wrote; \u201cRigging a professional boxing match is a federal crime in the United States of America. Paul vs. Tyson was a professional match sanctioned by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR). Both fighters in good faith performed to the best of their abilities with the goal of winning the fight. There were absolutely no restrictions \u2014 contractual or otherwise \u2014 around either fighter.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Some commentators had theorized that Tyson was unable to use his upper-cut.<\/p>\n<p>Not so, say MVP: \u201cAny agreement to the contrary would violate TDLR boxing rules.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>MVP Promotions say that \u2018Fake Fight\u2019 Talk is \u2018Illogical and Inane\u2019<\/h2>\n<p>\u201cIt is further illogical and inane that MVP, in the debut of a hopeful long-term partnership with the world\u2019s biggest streamer \u2014 an organization that made its first-ever foray into live professional sports with Paul vs. Tyson \u2014 would even so much as consider such a perverse violation of the rules of competition.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The statement was double-down by Jake Paul\u2019s MVP co-founder. \u201cThis is not the first time Jake Paul has faced unfounded skepticism or outright disbelief as a professional athlete,\u201d says Nakisa Bidarian. \u201cAnd, frankly, the claim that this bout must have been rigged is just the latest backhanded compliment to come his way.\u201d Bidarian went to explain that he feels there are those that seek to discredit Pauls\u2019 success because they have been unable to accept his abilities, and huge box office success. \u201cWe embrace the doubt \u2014 it only fuels Jake to work harder to achieve greater success,\u201d concluded Bidarian.<\/p>\n<p>The reaction to the statement on social media has been as mixed as one would expect. \u201cThe fact that you\u2019ve had to make this statement just makes it look even more rigged!\u201d wrote one Instagram user, while another added; \u201cThis was always gonna happen, people can\u2019t accept that Jake is currently a better boxer so they call it rigged.\u201d As for his next move,<\/p>\n<p>\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk\/sport\/boxing\/speed-jake-paul-boxing-30427648\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Problem Child<\/a>\u201d expected to face Darren Watkins Jr, known better as the popular streamer \u201cIShowSpeed\u201d next year, so interest in Paul\u2019s brand of boxing is still on a high.
