Those are more than just random thoughts \u2013 they\u2019re nudges from God, reminding you of the amazing creative spark He\u2019s planted in you.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Creativity is a powerful gift from God that reflects His image in us as the ultimate Creator. However, like all gifts, it can be misused. Throughout history and in modern society, we see examples of how creativity can be twisted for harmful purposes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For example, when used improperly, creativity can deceive and manipulate. Advertising and media often employ creative techniques to influence people\u2019s thoughts and behaviors. False advertising, propaganda, and misleading news can distort truth and manipulate individuals for profit or control.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0Proverbs 12:22 reminds us,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy.\u201d<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We all have a desire for creativity within us, and we all have the choice to use this desire for good or for evil. Using creativity to deceive, exploit others or spread hatred is contrary to God\u2019s nature of truth.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As followers of Jesus, it is crucial to recognize the dangers of improperly using our creativity and strive to align our creative efforts with God\u2019s will.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A good starting point is to ask yourself: <\/span><b>What are some times I used my creativity for good?<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I encourage you to really give these some thought. Write them down or ask a loved one the instances they have noticed your creativity being used for good.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For me:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Experimenting with different ingredients in the kitchen<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Brainstorming and making decisions about blog topics\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Thinking of new ways to demonstrate love to my husband<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Learning a new song on guitar (learning anything new, really)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In Genesis, the very first book of the Bible, we see God\u2019s creativity as He creates the world. Out of the ground, He forms animals, birds, and human beings. And since we are made in the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Genesis+1%3A27&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">image of God<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, we share in His creative nature. Acknowledging this helps us understand the responsibility and potential we hold.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cNow the Lord God had formed out of the ground all the wild animals and all the birds in the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds in the sky and all the wild animals\u2026\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Genesis 2: 19-20<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We also see here that one of the first tasks God gives man is to be creative. He instructs him to name all the living things. (I love thinking about this\u2026like why <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">tiger<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> or <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">giraffe<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">? I\u2019m also one who agrees it\u2019s no coincidence that \u201cdog\u201d is God spelled backwards \u2013 ha!) <\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As followers of Jesus, we are called to use our creativity responsibly and for God\u2019s glory.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Here are steps we can take to ensure our creative efforts align with His will:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h4><b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #008080;\"><strong>1.) Seek Wisdom\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Pray for guidance and wisdom in how to use your creative gifts. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=James%201%3A5&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">James 1:5<\/a> assures us that God gives generously to those who ask. So, if you\u2019re ever frustrated about how to use your creativity for good, try asking Him!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h4\/>\n<h4><b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #008080;\"><strong>2.) Bring Light\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ensure that your creative works reflect God\u2019s character and teachings. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Philippians+4%3A8&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Philippians 4:8<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> encourages us to focus only on what is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable. In a world often filled with negativity and falsehood, we have the opportunity to shine a light on truth and beauty, pointing others to the goodness of God.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h4><b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #008080;\"><strong>3.) Serve Others<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jesus exemplified a life of service. You can follow His example by using your creativity to encourage and uplift others, fostering love, unity, and positive change within your community.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h4><b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #008080;\"><strong>4.) Build Community<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=Hebrews+10%3A24-25&amp;version=NIV\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hebrews 10:24-25<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> urges us to spur one another on toward love and good deeds, and to not give up meeting together. Creativity can be a powerful tool for building community and fostering relationships. Hosting art workshops, musical gatherings, or collaborative writing sessions can bring people together, encouraging mutual support and shared joy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<h4><b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"color: #008080;\"><strong>5.) Glorify God<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Let your creativity be a testament to God\u2019s goodness. Always aim to glorify Him in your creative endeavors, using your talents as a form of worship and service. Also, don\u2019t hesitate to share how God has worked in your life through your creative efforts. Your journey and experiences can inspire others and point them toward God\u2019s grace and love.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<hr\/>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Creativity is a powerful gift that can be used for both good and evil.
