We are encouraged to use <a href=\"https:\/\/fitbottomedgirls.com\/2009\/09\/do-you-partake-in-positive-affirmations\/\">affirmations<\/a> to<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> boost confidence and quiet negative self-talk.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Sounds awesome, right?!<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What if I told you that popular (and frequently suggested) \u201c<\/span><i>I am\u201d <\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">affirmations like \u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I am capable<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d and \u201c<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I am rich<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d are not as impactful as you think? <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The issue with these \u201cgeneric\u201d affirmations is that many people use them as a band-aid to <a href=\"https:\/\/fitbottomedgirls.com\/2016\/10\/stress-busting-inside\/\">override their negative thoughts<\/a>. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For example, if you are genuinely struggling with money and think \u201cI am broke\u201d the suggested affirmation would be \u201cI am rich.\u201d (The direct opposite of your negative thought.)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But the thing is \u2026 your brain calls bullshit on this. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you are truly struggling with money you cannot <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">trick your brain<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> into thinking otherwise. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It will not magically be like, \u201cohhh I\u2019m rich?! Okay awesome I didn\u2019t realize!!!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So what should you do instead to create affirmations that actually work?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Enter \u201cProgress Affirmations\u201d<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Progress Affirmations are not just the \u201copposite\u201d of the negative thought you\u2019re having. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">They are statements that use logic, facts, and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">feelings<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> to boost your confidence based on the truth of the situation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For example\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Saying \u201cI am rich\u201d <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">probably won\u2019t magically make you rich<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">b<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ecause your brain knows that <\/span>you don\u2019t actually believe that, right now. <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Instead, try reframing \u201cI am rich\u201d to \u201cI am open to attracting more money daily\u201d making a progress-based statement that is true in the moment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your <a href=\"https:\/\/fitbottomedgirls.com\/2017\/07\/10-proven-ways-to-grow-your-brain\/\">brain<\/a> takes this statement and says, \u201cwow\u2026 that\u2019s actually true, okay I can work with that!\u201d and then works to find evidence to prove this to be true (affirming an attraction to more opportunities for wealth into your life).<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Tangible Takeaway\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>Do you use Affirmations when presented with a challenge?
