Once she was referred to the specialists in our pediatric Surgical Oncology Program, Maria immediately felt hopeful that Dulce would one day soon get back to dancing and singing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven though we may speak another language and may not fully understand, they have helped us a lot to fully understand what is happening clearly,\u201d says Maria.<\/p>\n<p>As a Spanish speaking family, it was important for our specialists to communicate Dulce\u2019s treatment in detail that was easy to understand.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy experience, from the moment I walked in, I felt a sense of security that the doctors are telling me every step of the process and what\u2019s next,\u201d says Maria. \u201cYou are putting all of your faith, all of your hope in them, because you see they are doing it out of the kindness of their heart to help all of the families.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After Dulce recovered from surgery, her spirit and energy has returned and you would have never known she was ever sick.
