By combining palliative medicine and neurology, Dr. Treat helps kids shape their identity apart from their medical condition. She finds it important to care for kids not only medically, but as the whole person who lives in their body. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s such a privilege to be able to work with children and families to help them come to a better understanding of what\u2019s going on in their own body,\u201d says Dr. Treat. <\/p>\n<p>Dr. Treat wants all her patients to find a place in their community, in their medical care and to feel important \u2013 to be seen as an individual.
